Join a regular schedule of Iyengar yoga classes and workshops as well as individual yoga instruction in Hatha or Iyengar Yoga tradition, taught by a Certified Iyengar yoga teacher Susan Turis located throughout the New York, NY and Brooklyn, NY area.

Each yoga class is directed to the skill level of the students with individual help and attention toward improving the student's personal practice, health and well-being. Based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar, the Iyengar Yoga practice is ideally suited for such conditions as musculoskeletal injuries and chronic illnesses. The Iyengar Yoga method can be adapted to meet the needs of every person, regardless of health, age and physical challenges.

In each yoga class we may use supportive yoga props – including but not limited to yoga mats, chairs, folded blankets, yoga straps and blocks, which enable all students to achieve the proper alignment of the yoga posture, stay longer in it, gain confidence and therefore realize its full benefits of an Iyengar yoga practice.

This unique approach yoga (Iyengar Yoga) is to help people adapt to and heal from physical challenges of illness and injury. The Iyengar approach is to make Yoga accessible to everyone –and by using yoga props (supports) to ensure that every practitioner can perform each yoga posture and realize the full benefits of vitality to the body and the mind.
